British Man Faces Terror Charges Over Extreme Right-Wing Publications
Kristofer Thomas Kearney, 37, a British national living in Alicante, Spain, is set to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, 30 September. He faces two serious charges of distributing terrorist material under Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
Arrest and Extradition Spark Counter Terror Probe
Kearney was nabbed by Spanish police at his Alicante home on 2 March 2022. The arrest came under a Trade and Co-operation Agreement (TaCA) warrant issued by the UK’s Counter Terrorism Command. After nearly a year abroad, he was extradited back to the UK on 8 September.
UK counter terrorism officers immediately detained him upon arrival. Charged the same evening, Kearney first appeared at 1 Magistrates’ Court on 9 September where he was remanded in custody.
Investigation Targets Extreme Right-Wing Terrorism
The probe focuses on Kearney’s connection to extreme right-wing terrorism and the dissemination of related publications. Authorities continue to crack down on the spread of extremist content, highlighting ongoing national security concerns.
