Cold-Blooded Killer Gets Life for Murdering Two Women
Mark Brown, 41, has been hit with a minimum 49-year prison term for the brutal murders of Leah Ware, 33, and Alexandra Morgan, 34. He’ll serve time minus 380 days already spent in custody.
Double Murder at Little Bridge Farm
Brown was found guilty by a unanimous jury at Hove Crown Court on December 1, 2022, following a seven-week trial. He had denied both killings but was sentenced on January 13, 2023.
“Brown is a dangerous individual who poses a significant threat to women,” said Detective Chief Inspector Neil Kimber of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate. “He preyed on Leah and Alex’s vulnerabilities and exploited their trust for his own gain.”
The judge added: “It was critical that his sentence reflects the heinous nature of his crimes and ensures he cannot harm any other women for the rest of his life.”
The Hunt for Alex and Leah
- Alex Morgan, a mother of two, went missing after meeting Brown through an adult services website. CCTV and phone data tracked her last movements to Little Bridge Farm on November 14, 2021.
- Brown was charged with her murder after evidence showed he killed Alex and burned her body in an oil drum near Sevenoaks, where he worked.
- Forensic scientists confirmed the remains using dental records.
- Brown admitted to burning Alex’s body but claimed she died from an accidental fall.
Leah Ware’s Disappearance and Death
- Leah Ware had been in a relationship with Brown since March 2018 and lived in a shipping container at Little Bridge Farm.
- She vanished without contact from May 2021. No phone, financial activity, or medical visits were recorded after that.
- Sussex Police ruled Brown was the last person to see Leah alive; she likely died around May 7, 2021.
- Brown even tried to cover his tracks by collecting Leah’s prescriptions and withdrawing money from her bank, while telling others she was either in hospital or had committed suicide.
- He was charged with Leah’s murder on February 1, 2022, after being questioned in custody.
Detective Superintendent Andy Wolstenholme said: “We hope Mark Brown’s conviction brings some justice to the families of Alex and Leah. We continue to seek any leads that could locate Leah’s body and provide answers to her loved ones.”
