Man Charged with Murder After Hayes Stabbing
The Metropolitan Police have named the victim of a stabbing in Hayes as they charged 30-year-old Adejuwon Olufemi Alexander Jnr Oyekan with murder. Oyekan appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, where he was remanded in custody. He is due back at the Old Bailey on July 17.
Because of the severity of the charge, the case will automatically be transferred to the crown court.
Early Morning Attack in Melina Close
The stabbing happened in the early hours of Tuesday at a property in Melina Close, Hayes. The victim, Mr Thompson, was found inside the house with a stab wound. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but he was pronounced dead at the property.
Investigation Ongoing
“The investigation is in its early stages,” said Detective Inspector Adam Guttridge of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command. “Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident. At this time, no other individuals are being sought in connection with the case. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this difficult time.”
