North London Knife Attack: Two Men Jailed Over Brutal Triple Stabbing Outside Music Venue

Two men have been locked up for a savage knife attack outside a popular North London music venue. Kieran Morgan, 23, and Daniel Onyewuenyi, 30, were sentenced to a combined 13 years after stabbing three men during a late-night brawl.

CCTV and Jackets Cracked the Case

The attack happened just after 5:20am on 19 April 2022, outside The Scala on Pentonville Road, Islington. Morgan and Onyewuenyi, both attending the event, clashed with strangers in the crowd. The fight turned violent when Morgan pulled a knife and stabbed two men in the head and chest. Onyewuenyi stabbed a third man in the thigh before they both fled the scene.

Thankfully, none of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

Met police detectives launched a full-scale investigation, combing through CCTV footage from the scene. Officers zeroed in on the suspects after spotting distinctive jackets recovered from their homes — the exact same as those worn in the footage.

Sentences Delivered at Wood Green Crown Court

  • Kieran Morgan, of Berger Road, E9, was arrested in May. He admitted two counts of wounding with intent and an additional knife threat charge from days earlier. He received a 7.5-year sentence.
  • Daniel Onyewuenyi, from Forest Grove, E8, was caught later that month after police found his jacket at his home. He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and was sentenced to four years.

Met Police Slam Violent Attack

“Morgan and Onyewuenyi were intent on causing harm,” said DC Luke Martinez from the Met’s Specialist Crime South. “Morgan stabbed victims in the head and chest with no regard for life. It’s only by luck they escaped serious injury. This was a near murder investigation.”

He added: “Those who think such brutal actions go unpunished have no place in our city. We remain committed to tackling violent crime and delivering justice.”
