Dealer Caught With Drugs and Knives Jailed for Nearly Three Years
Phillip Anderson, 41, was slammed with a 2 year and 10 month jail sentence at Maidstone Crown Court on 1 October 2020. The St Leonards-On-Sea man pled guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, cannabis possession, and carrying offensive weapons in public.
Drugs and Danger Found in Car Stops
On 9 October 2018, police stopped Anderson driving along the A21 in Lamberhurst. A search of his vehicle uncovered bags of cocaine, cannabis, and a knife cleverly disguised as a torch.
Over a month later, on 16 November, officers patrolling Dartford flagged Anderson down on the A206 Crossways around 9.55pm. He ignored the police command to stop, sparking a brief car chase. When the vehicle finally halted, Anderson jumped out and tried to make a run for it but was caught after a short foot chase.
A search of the car turned up more cannabis and a flick knife. Anderson was promptly arrested and charged with the offences.
Judge Orders Drugs and Weapons Destroyed
Along with his prison sentence, the court ordered all drugs and weapons seized to be forfeited and destroyed.
Investigating officer PC Marcel Bibi said: “On both occasions Anderson was found in possession of drugs and knives and this is not acceptable behaviour. I hope his sentence acts as a deterrent to others.”
