Blaze Erupts on 13th Floor of Manor Park Tower Block

London Fire Brigade raced to a blazing flat on Grantham Road, Manor Park this afternoon. Flames tore through part of a 13th floor apartment in a 15-storey building.

60 Residents Escape Smoke and Fire

About 60 people fled the building before firefighters arrived on the scene. The Brigade was alerted at 2.47pm and scrambled crews from Ilford, Stratford, Leytonstone, Dagenham, and nearby stations.

Fire Brigade Bombarded with Emergency Calls

LFB’s 999 Control Officers fielded over 40 calls about the blaze. The cause remains unknown. This is the Brigade’s third major incident today, after earlier fires at a pub and a tower block in Hammersmith and Fulham.

“We are currently tackling the fire and ensuring everyone’s safety,” said an LFB spokesperson.
