Teen Dies After Brutal Bus Stabbing in Chadwell Heath
Police were scrambled at 3.55pm on Monday, March 14, after reports of a stabbing on a bus along High Road, Chadwell Heath. Paramedics rushed a 16-year-old boy with serious stab wounds to hospital, but tragically he passed away in the early hours.
Young Victim Loses Life in Shocking Attack
The teenage boy’s family has been informed about their devastating loss. Meanwhile, an 18-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody. A crime scene is still in place as homicide detectives launch a full investigation.
Police Vow Action as Community Reels
“Today a young man stabbed in Chadwell Heath has died of his injuries. The victim was only 16-years-old and I can only imagine his family’s anguish at this terrible time,” said Chief Superintendent Paul Trevers of the East Area Command Unit.
“I know how deeply this will be felt in the local community and there will be extra officers patrolling to reassure you and answer your questions. Please do speak to the officers about your concerns, they are there to listen and help.”
“Violent crime is down across London, but that is no solace to those affected. As a police officer, I know we cannot tackle violent crime alone—it needs everyone working together. Whether telling police about those carrying weapons or talking to young people about knife crime, what we all do makes a difference.”
