PC Ashley Clark Joins Elite Drugs Expert Panel
Nottinghamshire’s very own PC Ashley Clark has landed a spot on the exclusive Drugs Expert Witnesses and Valuation Association (DEWVA) committee. Only 13 officers nationwide earn this prestigious role, and Clark secured it after a competitive application process.
What’s DEWVA?
Formed in 2009, DEWVA supports Drugs Expert Witness officers through national and regional seminars. The committee meets quarterly, plus a yearly conference, and stays active with monthly updates. Their mission? To keep officers sharp, ensure top-notch expert witness standards, and promote support from police forces to maintain cutting-edge knowledge.
High Praise from the Top
“I am absolutely chuffed to bits with Ash becoming a committee panel member on DEWVA,”
said Sergeant Graham Whitt, PC Clark’s supervisor.
“This is a testament to Ash’s skill and hard work as a Drugs Expert Witness, and it also reflects Nottinghamshire Police’s top-tier drugs team. Having him on the committee means Notts will influence how drugs work develops nationally.”
PC Clark’s Ambition
The former Response officer turned Drugs Expert Witness in 2019 is buzzing about the new challenge.
“With over 1,000 members, the committee guides drugs experts across the country in delivering independent and unbiased court reports,”
Clark said.
“I applied because I want to drive real change and improve how we crack down on drugs and organised crime. I can’t wait for the first meeting!”
