Dougie Frankham Caught Red-Handed
Patrols cracking down on shoplifting in Maidstone town centre have nabbed Dougie Frankham after he brazenly ignored orders meant to protect local businesses. The 36-year-old, already known for theft and disorderly behaviour, was stopped in his tracks.
Swift Police Action After Double Theft Spree
Kent Police swung into action just after 1.30pm on Tuesday 28 March. Frankham had slipped into a banned premises on Week Street and stolen clothing. Not stopping there, he soon tried nicking food from a bakery in King Street. Within five minutes, officers from the Maidstone Community Safety Unit caught him. They also recovered a stolen tracksuit before hauling him off to custody.
Justice Served at Medway Magistrates’ Court
Frankham, from Cambridge Crescent, faced charges of breaching a criminal behaviour order twice, theft, and a public order offence. He pleaded guilty at Medway Magistrates’ Court the next day and was slammed with an eight-month prison sentence.
