Masked Gangster Snared Despite Face Covering
Jodecie Daley, aka ‘Ojay’, thought a mask would hide him in a worrying YouTube grime video last month. He was dead wrong.

West Midlands Police Gang Unit, experts at ID’ing gang members, recognised Daley despite the disguise. The 24-year-old from Erdington featured in a 23 Drillas clip stirring gang violence.
Officers also uncovered Daley had been breaking his strict 6.30pm to 6.30am curfew, imposed after his July release from prison. He served half of a five-year sentence for dealing crack cocaine.
Daley Back Behind Bars — Fast
He was arrested yesterday and hauled straight back to jail. Initially recalled for 28 days, police want him locked up until January 2023 to finish his sentence.
“Daley belongs to a core of gang members linked to violence and drugs. People can rest assured we are onto these individuals and doing all we can to disrupt their activity,” said Detective Inspector Dawn Burns of the Gangs & Organised Crime Unit.
Gang Injunctions Clamp Down on Crime
The gang injunction Daley broke is no joke. It bans him from:
- Appearing in videos glorifying gang violence
- Associating with other named gang suspects
- Having more than one phone or SIM card
- Driving cars not registered with police
- Entering large parts of north Birmingham and the Arcadian Centre
Daley first came under this civil order in 2017 after police found him in grime videos uploading coded threats against rivals. The injunction runs until September 2021.
Keeping Pressure on Gang Crime
“Our officers know which men are subject of injunctions, recognise them on sight, and will arrest them should they break any terms,” added DI Burns. “We’ll help anyone who wants to quit gangs and live better lives. But for troublemakers, we won’t let up.”
Daley’s dark past includes a 2018 arrest after armed cops stopped him in a Vauxhall Corsa on Washwood Heath Road, finding 54 wraps of crack cocaine in his bag. He admitted dealing and got five years.
