Ramsgate Man Jailed for Sharing Intimate Images Online Without Consent
Horwood Sentenced to Nearly Two Years Behind Bars
A 33-year-old man from Ramsgate has been locked up for nearly two years after uploading intimate images of a woman to porn sites without her permission. Tom Horwood grabbed private photos and a video from the victim’s computer, then blasted them across multiple websites and social media platforms.
Victim’s Private Life Exposed, Home Address Shared
The woman found the explicit content online between June 2018 and January 2019. Shockingly, her home address was also posted with an invite for people to visit her “for sex.” This left her feeling humiliated, isolated, and fearful that strangers had viewed her private moments.
Child Porn Found During Police Raid
Horwood was arrested in March 2019 after police seized his devices. A computer search unveiled three indecent images of a child, resulting in further serious charges. At Maidstone Crown Court, Horwood pleaded guilty to stalking causing serious alarm and creating indecent images of a child.
Justice Served with 22-Month Sentence and Indefinite Restraining Order
On 26 February 2020, Horwood was sentenced to 22 months in prison and slapped with an indefinite restraining order.
“Horwood’s callous actions have had a devastating and profound impact on the victim,” said PC Abbie Brookes of Tonbridge CID. “She’s left feeling humiliated and isolated. It’s crucial victims know they’ll be treated with respect and that offenders will face justice.”
“We want anyone suffering in silence to come forward. You will be met with compassion and discretion.”
