Rose Copper Gold Knife Leads to 16-Year Jail for Attempted Murder in Hoo
A distinctive rose copper gold kitchen knife left at the scene of a brutal attack in Hoo has landed Clayton Perfect behind bars for over 16 years.
Vicious Early Morning Assault
The 22-year-old, from Charter Street, Gillingham, carried out a savage stabbing attack just after 4.45am on October 4, 2020, inside a property on Ratcliffe Highway.
Perfect forced his way into the home and tried to stab the first victim in the neck.
Luckily, the victim dodged the fatal blow but suffered deep slash wounds. The knife then got stuck in a wall.
Unfazed, Perfect grabbed another kitchen knife and attacked a second man, stabbing him in the left arm and slashing his chest during a second strike.
Knife Clue Cracks the Case
After fleeing, Perfect was arrested on Barker Road, maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone, at 7.20am that day.
Police found a matching set of knives with one missing, pinpointing the rose copper gold blade. They also uncovered evidence of Perfect admitting to a family member, “I stabbed someone.”
Justice Served: Heavy Sentence for Knife Crime
On October 22, 2021, Maidstone Crown Court sentenced Perfect to 16 and a half years behind bars plus four years on licence.
“This was a vicious assault which left two victims with serious injuries and it was only sheer luck that this incident didn’t lead to a murder investigation,” said investigating officer Lucas Melella.
