Meat and Groceries Stolen Across Multiple Shops

A man has been charged with stealing meat and groceries from three shops in Chatham between June 18 and 27, 2021. The shops, located on Magpie Hall Road, Maidstone Road, and Churchill Avenue, reported thefts during this period.

Worker Threatened with Syringe During Thefts

In two of the incidents, store workers claimed they were threatened with a syringe. Following an investigation, police arrested Ashley Clough, 33, who has no fixed address, on June 30.

15 Charges Including Threats and Shoplifting

Clough was charged with eight counts of shoplifting, five breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order, and two counts of threatening someone with a blade or sharp object in public.

Guilty Plea and Court Remand

The suspect appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on July 1 where he pleaded guilty. He was remanded in custody and will face Maidstone Crown Court at a later date.
