Paedo Molester Samantha Smith Banged Up Again After Jail Attack

Samantha Smith, 31, landed back in the slammer yesterday after launching an assault while being taken to the cells in November last year. The former Blantyre woman admitted kicking a custody officer in the stomach at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

Child Molester Spat and Kicked Guard

Smith had already been convicted of abusing two very young children over several years in East Kilbride from 2009. She preyed on a five-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl during that time.

As she was led away, Smith shouted to the court: “Paedophiles should be hung, not put in jail. If I’m a paedophile, hang me.”

Violent Outburst After Guilty Verdict

Prosecutor Morag McLintock told Sheriff Douglas Brown that Smith immediately became aggressive after being found guilty by the jury.

“Smith swore at a custody officer, struggled with her, and kicked her on the stomach,” McLintock said. “The officer fell to the ground and colleagues had to step in to separate them.”

Thankfully, the officer escaped serious injury and did not require medical treatment.

Five Months Behind Bars – No Early Release

After the court heard Smith’s earliest release date from her three-year child abuse sentence is May next year, Sheriff Brown handed down an additional five-month jail term for the assault. The sentence takes immediate effect.

Earlier in court, Smith screamed, “I’m not a beast!”—but the judge clearly wasn’t buying it.
