Black Pit Bike Tracked and Targeted by Kent Police
Bike Found at Bicknor Road Address
On April 9, police zeroed in on a black pit bike tied to nuisance reports in the Parkwood and Shepway estates. The bike was tracked to a residential address on Bicknor Road as part of a crackdown on illegal off-road vehicle use.
Roads Policing Unit Lends a Hand
The force’s Roads Policing Unit helped locate the bike after multiple complaints surfaced about it being ridden illegally across local playing fields the previous weekend. Residents had raised concerns over safety and disturbances caused by the reckless riding.
Chief Inspector Vows Zero Tolerance
maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone Chief Inspector Mark McLellan blasted the dangerous riders. He said: “We are continuing to target the small minority whose selfish and reckless actions cause real anxiety and distress, especially to the elderly and young children.”
He added: “Everyone should be able to safely enjoy our open spaces. We will not tolerate those who persist in riding off-road motorbikes and quad bikes on public areas and footpaths.”
Warnings Issued – Bikes Face Seizure and Destruction
Chief Inspector McLellan confirmed that if the bike, known as 123, is caught being used illegally again, it will be seized and destroyed. “We have also issued several community protection warnings to riders and parents. Ignoring these could lead to prosecution and court appearances.”
