Paedophile Busted by Cumbria Cyber Crime Unit
Alan Nicholson Caught in Web of Digital Depravity
Alan Nicholson, 53, from Harrington’s Main Street, has been slammed with justice after a cyber crime sting. Thanks to Cumbria Constabulary’s Cyber and Digital Crime Unit, Nicholson was arrested, charged, and convicted at Carlisle Crown Court.
Guilty of Sickening Child Sex Offences
Nicholson was found guilty of two counts of attempting to facilitate sexual activity with a child. His vile crimes included asking a woman for naked photos of a child and instructing her to sexually assault the child.
Lifetime Sex Offender and 10-Year Ban
The judge threw the book at Nicholson: he’s now on the Sex Offender Register for life and slapped with a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Police Vow to Keep Cracking Down
Detective Sergeant James Bailey said, “Our specialist officers work hard behind the scenes all year round to deter offending, catch criminals and safeguard victims. We will not tolerate those carrying out such crimes and will continue to do what we can to target those offending in this way and bring them to justice.”
Cumbria’s cyber cops are proving to be relentless in hunting down online predators. Nicholson is the latest offender nabbed and punished for digital child sex crimes.
