Armed officers from the Met’s elite SO19 unit were scrambled to Wren Close in Orpington on Tuesday night.

Police were called just after 9pm following reports of gunshots at the local travellers’ site. Neighbours reported hearing two loud bangs.
Some Brush It Off as Fireworks
Several nearby homeowners initially dismissed the noises as fireworks. The Met Police have been contacted for comment.
