Man Charged with Sexual Assault on Gatwick Flight from Doha
A 65-year-old man has been charged with sexual assault following an alleged attack on a woman during an international flight from Doha, Qatar, to Gatwick Airport.
Victim Attacked While Asleep on Plane
Police were called at 4:53am on 28 September after reports emerged that a woman in her 20s was sexually assaulted while she slept on the flight. The suspect, 65-year-old Momade Jussab from Feltham, Hounslow, was arrested as the plane landed at Gatwick.
Zero Tolerance on Sexual Violence
Detective Inspector Darren Taylor, leading the investigation, said: “This incident must have been extremely traumatic for the victim, and she is being supported by specialist officers. Our team worked hard to secure a charge and remand for this sexual assault, which shows our zero tolerance and robust stance on sexual violence.”
Suspect to Appear in Court
Jussab has been formally charged and is currently in custody. He is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 28 October. Police have pledged a thorough investigation and remain committed to delivering justice for the victim, who continues to receive specialist support.
