BBC’s Jay Blades Pleads Not Guilty to Shocking Domestic Abuse Charges
Jay Blades, the beloved BBC presenter best known for “The Repair Shop,” has appeared in court to deny controlling and coercive behaviour allegations against his wife, Lisa-Marie Zbozen.
Worcester Court Drama Unfolds
The 54-year-old TV personality entered a not guilty plea at Worcester Crown Court on Friday. Speaking only to confirm his identity and plea, Blades faces serious claims spanning from January 2023 to September 2024.
Prosecutors say Blades’ conduct caused Lisa-Marie to live in fear of violence on at least two occasions. The case exploded into the public eye after Lisa-Marie announced the end of their relationship on social media.
Judge Refuses Privacy Request, Sets Trial Date
Judge James Burbidge rejected attempts to hold any part of the proceedings behind closed doors. While an electronic tag condition was scrapped due to technical issues, Blades remains confined by an exclusion zone.
A full trial is slated for May 6, 2025. Until then, Blades firmly denies all allegations.
