Murder probe launched after woman with stab wounds dies in Bexley

33-year-old woman found stabbed on Penhill Road

A 33-year-old woman was discovered with multiple stab wounds on Penhill Road, Bexley, on Tuesday, 16 January. She was rushed to hospital but tragically died from her injuries on Wednesday, 23 January.

Suspect arrested and charged with attempted murder

Tony Curant, 33, from Penhill Road, was arrested on Saturday, 20 January. The following day, he was charged with attempted murder. Curant appeared at bromley/" title="Bromley" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Bromley Magistrates Court on Monday, 22 January and was remanded in custody.

Next court date set for early February

Curant is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, 5 February. Police have notified the victim’s family and are providing specialist support during this difficult time. A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course.
