Second Teen Found Dead in Birmingham Murder Probe
Detectives hunting the killer of a 16-year-old boy in Birmingham have made a chilling discovery – the body of a second teenager. The grim find was made today beside a canal on Lighthorne Avenue during searches linked to last week’s fatal shooting.
Tragedy on Lighthorne Avenue
The first victim, aged 16, was shot at a property on Lighthorne Avenue, Ladywood, last Sunday, November 5. Despite attempts to save him in hospital, he died. The newly discovered body is believed to be a 17-year-old boy, linked to the same murder investigation.
- No one else is currently being sought in connection to the death of the 17-year-old.
- A gun was recovered near the body and will be sent for forensic tests.
Arrest Made, Investigation Ongoing
Earlier this week, police arrested a 17-year-old in relation to the original shooting. He remains on bail but has not been connected to the second death.
“Our thoughts are with the families affected by these tragic events,” said Detective Superintendent Shaun Edwards, who is leading the homicide team. “This investigation will take time, and we will continue to support those involved.”
