Teen Brutally Attacked Near Brighton Church

Police are hunting for witnesses after a 17-year-old boy was assaulted near St Peter’s Church in Brighton.

What Happened?

The teenager was walking alone at around 4pm on Tuesday, January 2, when a stocky man approached him at a pedestrian crossing on Richmond Terrace, close to St Peter’s House Library.

The attacker struck the boy as he crossed the road, leaving him with a serious injury. Quick-thinking library staff rushed to help before the victim was taken to hospital. Thankfully, he has since been released.

Suspect Description

  • Mid-20s, about 5’6” tall
  • Stocky build
  • Possibly Arab or of mixed heritage
  • Black beard
  • Wearing a black jacket and a beanie hat with a logo

Police Appeal for Help

Officers want anyone who witnessed the assault, especially drivers with dashcam footage, to come forward. CCTV and mobile phone videos from the area could be crucial.
