Brighton Drug Dealer Jailed After Fake ID Fail
Asllan Hasbajrami, 21, was caught red-handed by Specialist Enforcement Unit (SEU) officers in Brighton. The drug dealer raised suspicions driving without a licence or insurance on Preston Road. When stopped, he looked nervous and tried to fool cops with a fake name and bogus ID.
Cash, Coke, and Burner Phones Found in Search
A search of Hasbajrami’s car revealed cash, two burner phones, and 16 wraps of cocaine. Brighton CID charged him with class A drug supply, driving without a licence, uninsured driving, and resisting arrest.
Sentenced and Set for Deportation
On January 12 at Lewes Crown Court, Hasbajrami, formerly of Beaconsfield Road, pleaded guilty. He was slapped with an 18-month prison sentence. After serving time, he faces deportation back to Albania.
Police Praise Proactive Patrols
The incident started in the early hours of October 14 when SEU officers spotted Hasbajrami’s vehicle. When he was stopped later that night, the illegal drugs and cash were seized.
“Hasbajrami’s attempt to use a fake Italian driving licence and his failure to even spell the false name he gave us criminally was laughable,” said SEU Inspector Ollie Pullen. “These proactive patrols in Brighton city centre are vital to disrupting drug trafficking and keeping our communities safe.”
