Thieves and Drink-Drivers Busted at Bromley and Bexley Courts
Bromley, May 17, 2024 – A string of crime cases hit Bromley and Bexley Magistrates’ Courts this Friday, featuring petty thefts, drug-driving, and failing breath tests. Here’s the lowdown on who did what and how they were sentenced.
Shoplifters Nabbed at BP and Co-op
- Eric Taylor, 56, from Orpington, swiped £99 worth of meat from a BP garage on Lee High Road on April 12. He got off with a one-year conditional discharge.
- Ryan Kiely, 31, homeless and notorious, admitted to multiple thefts from the same BP garage. He was jailed for eight months.
- Richard Halford, 41, of Orpington, stole ten jars of coffee, a milkshake, cakes, and salmon from The Co-op on May 16. He was fined £100.
- Anthony Barber, 45, from Sydenham Park, nabbed perfume bottles from a car last May. He landed a £200 fine.
Drink and Drug Driving Crackdowns
- Harry Short, 18, from Edenbridge, was caught drug-driving in Sidcup on January 13. He received a one-year driving ban and a £120 fine.
- Marissa Patel, 27, of Croydon, was caught drink-driving on April 10. She got banned for a year and fined £332.
- Miraj Patel, 36, from Raymond Road, failed to provide a breath sample after suspicion of a driving offence. He received a one-year community order with 100 hours of unpaid work and a two-year driving disqualification.
