Robber Jailed for Targeting 98-Year-Old Grandad in Slough Home Invasion

Keith Bunce, 44, with no fixed address, was locked up for four-and-a-half years after robbing a 98-year-old man in his own home. Bunce pleaded guilty to robbery at Reading Crown Court and was ordered to pay £190 on 18 November.

Shocking Home Raid on Nonagenarian

The horror unfolded on 28 September in Dolphin Road, Slough. The elderly victim ignored an initial knock at his door. But Bunce smashed through the patio door moments later, threatening the old man and demanding cash.

Bunce snatched £100 before fleeing. Thankfully, the victim escaped without physical injury.

Quick Arrest and Tough Sentence

Police arrested Bunce the very next day, charging him on 1 October. Wushma Qureshi, lead investigator from the Slough priority crime team, said:

“This was an extremely serious ordeal for a 98-year-old in the safety of his own home. The victim had shown kindness by giving money before but was repaid with a terrifying break-in while trapped in his armchair.”

Qureshi added, “I am satisfied with the sentence handed out to Bunce, which will give him time to reflect on his cowardly behaviour.”
