Cosham Brawl: Six Arrested After Weapons Found in Southwick Hill Road Clash

Police swooped on a violent public order incident in Cosham’s Portsdown Hill area on Saturday night. Moments before 7.10pm on 12 September, officers were called to a car park in Southwick Hill Road where a group armed with weapons was spotted.

Six Men Arrested Amid Southwick Hill Road Fight

When police arrived near QA Hospital, they found several people brawling on Southwick Hill Road. Six men were arrested within minutes:

  • 29-year-old man from Gosport – suspected affray and violent disorder
  • 26-year-old man from Havant – suspected possession of offensive weapon and violent disorder
  • 32-year-old man from Rowlands Castle – suspected possession of offensive weapon and violent disorder
  • 29-year-old from Waterlooville – suspected possession of offensive weapon and violent disorder
  • 29-year-old from portsmouth/" title="Portsmouth" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Portsmouth – suspected possession of offensive weapon and violent disorder
  • 27-year-old from North Boarhunt – suspected possession of offensive weapon and violent disorder

Weapons Seized Including Machete and Knuckle Duster

Officers confiscated a dangerous arsenal from the scene: a machete, baseball bat, knife, and knuckle duster among them. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the chaos.

Five Released on Bail, One Still Under Investigation

Five of the suspects were let out on conditional bail until 10 October. The 29-year-old from Gosport was released without charge but remains under police scrutiny.
