Brutal Captors Jailed for 19 Years Over Sickening Sheffield Kidnap

Two men have been locked up for 19-and-a-half years each after a chilling international probe uncovered their horrifying torture of victims held captive in a Sheffield home.

Chained, Starved, Beaten and Burned

On Saturday 14 May 2022, armed police stormed a house on Firth Park Road following tip-offs that two Albanian men were being held against their will.

Inside, officers found the men chained to radiators in separate upstairs rooms. They had been starved for days and forced to eat from empty dog bowls. One victim suffered severe burns to his hand from savage scalding and beatings. When rescuers arrived, he could barely whisper, “thank you.”

Sadistic Duo Used Torture to Extort Cash

Downstairs, Lithuanian Valdemaras Kasinskas, 39, and Albanian Andi Alushi, 27, were arrested on suspicion of wounding and false imprisonment.

“What officers found inside that house was deeply disturbing,” said Detective Chief Inspector Mark Oughton, lead investigator. “Kasinskas and Alushi’s barbaric treatment amounted to outright torture. They violently beat one victim and burned him with scalding liquid, causing serious injuries.”

“Their sick motive? To extort money from the victims’ families back in Albania by blaming them for exposing a cannabis warehouse. They filmed the abuse, hoping to blackmail relatives.”

Justice Served – Guilty Pleas and Long Sentences

Both men admitted false imprisonment at Sheffield Crown Court last month. Today, they each received 19-and-a-half-year sentences.

DCI Oughton added: “Faced with overwhelming evidence — from victim testimony to digital proof — the criminals pleaded guilty just before trial. This conviction wouldn’t have been possible without the victims’ bravery, relentless police work, and international law enforcement support.”

More details will emerge soon on this far-reaching investigation.
