Salisbury man Ryan Moore, 20, today admitted to a string of driving offences after a breathless 47-mile police chase that had officers peddling to keep up.
High-Speed Madness Through Wiltshire and Hampshire
On December 9, cops spotted Moore’s black Mercedes A-Class on Avon Approach, Salisbury, believed tied to a drugs deal. The car was also rocking cloned number plates.
When officers moved to stop him, Moore floored it, tearing through Salisbury and hurtling along the A30, A303, and onto the M3 motorway at speeds up to 120mph.
He recklessly weaved through traffic and smashed past roadworks, risking countless lives in a daredevil escape.
Chase Derailed at Fleet Services
The drama ended abruptly when Moore ran out of fuel at Fleet Services. Police soon uncovered the full mess: no insurance, driving while disqualified, fake plates, and under the influence of cannabis.
Court Appearance and Custody
At Salisbury Remand Court on December 11, Moore pleaded guilty to:
- Dangerous driving
- Driving while disqualified
- No insurance
- Failing to provide an evidential sample
- Using fraudulent registration plates
He was remanded in custody and awaits sentencing in January.
PC Pedliham of Salisbury Community Policing Team said: “I am pleased that Moore has entered a guilty plea and has been remanded in custody. By leading officers on such a lengthy pursuit, he showed clear intent to evade police and put the public at risk due to his poor decisions and incredibly dangerous driving.”
“This was a good piece of collaborative work by Wiltshire and Hampshire Police, and if Moore hadn’t run out of fuel when he did, I am confident he would have been shortly brought to a safe stop by these Specialist units.”
