Child and Three Rescued from Sutton Court Road Blaze

Four people, including a child, were saved from a fire at a derelict office block on Sutton Court Road last Friday evening, November 29.

Firefighters Rush to Scene

The London Fire Brigade scrambled four fire engines and 25 firefighters after emergency calls at 7:30pm. They quickly battled the flames and managed to rescue the group from the rear flat roof of a neighbouring building.

Rubbish Fire Damages Building

The blaze burned around 16 square metres of rubbish outside the building’s entrance. A small section of the office block’s external fascia also suffered damage. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Investigation Underway

The fire was under control by 8:30pm. London Fire Brigade is now probing the cause of the fire.

“Firefighters acted swiftly to bring the fire under control and ensure the safety of those involved. We urge members of the public to report any suspicious activity near disused buildings to help prevent similar incidents,” a LFB spokesperson said.

Residents are urged to stay alert and report any hazards or suspicious behaviour near abandoned sites to help keep the community safe.
