‘Monster Medway’ Gets 14 Years for Sick 3-Year-Old Rape – Sentence Stands Despite Appeal
Convicted sex offender “Monster Medway,” 62, was jailed for 14 years after he orally raped a 3-year-old girl at Fort Victoria Country Park back in August 2020. He is set to serve 9 years behind bars, followed by 5 years on licence for his sickening crime.
Appeal Bid Rejected
Last month, it emerged that a request had been made to reconsider his sentence. However, the Attorney General’s Office has now confirmed the appeal won’t proceed.
Attorney General Stands Firm
A spokesperson said:
“The Solicitor General was shocked by this case and wishes to express his deepest sympathies to the victim and their family. After careful consideration, the Solicitor General has concluded that he could not refer this case to the Court of Appeal.
“Under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme, a sentence can only be challenged if it is not just lenient but grossly so—when the judge’s decision falls outside the reasonable sentencing range.
“This high threshold was not met in this case.”
Justice Served, But Horrific Crime Haunts
Despite public outrage and the horror of the crime, legal authorities maintain that the original sentence reflects the severity of the offence. “Monster Medway” remains locked up as efforts to extend his punishment stall.
