BMW Driver Stabbed to Death Through Car Window After Dragging Killer’s Bike
A shocking London stabbing sent a BMW driver to his death after he ran over a man’s mountain bike — and dragged it along the road. The victim, Alexandros Josephs, 29, was stabbed through his car window in broad daylight on May 10, 2023, in Ladywell, South-East London.
The Deadly Attack
Ahmed Gonladieu, 25, faces murder and knife possession charges over the fatal stabbing. Prosecutor Jacob Hallam KC told the Old Bailey how the grisly attack unfolded.
“At about 1:48 pm, Mr. Josephs was driving a grey BMW down a dead-end road,” Hallam explained. “Seven minutes later, the same car sped back up the road before crashing into parked vehicles. Inside, Mr. Josephs was dying — stabbed deeply, with wounds cutting through his liver and aorta.”
The stabbing was captured on CCTV. Gonladieu denies the charges.
Eyewitnesses Reveal Knife Attack
A witness heard voices and spotted a black male, wearing all black and riding a mountain bike, chatting at the driver’s window. Moments later, the witness heard metal scraping on the road and saw the BMW dragging the bike along.
The man then pulled out a large knife, stabbed through the open window, and fled shouting. Gonladieu reportedly took an Uber home around 2 pm.
Tragic Aftermath
- Mr. Josephs crashed at high speed, hitting parked cars and suffering fatal injuries.
- Emergency services arrived but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
- The crash caused severe damage to the BMW’s front and buckled a wheel.
Forensics swarmed the Ladywell street after the attack left the community reeling. Mr. Josephs’ passenger won’t be giving evidence at the trial. Gonladieu was arrested later that night in a car with others nearby.
Trial Ongoing
The courtroom drama continues as the Old Bailey seeks to uncover why Gonladieu allegedly stabbed Mr Josephs. The violent incident has sparked major public interest given its brutal nature and the impact on the local area.
