Orpington Cyclist Critically Injured in Horror Crash
A man is fighting for his life after a serious collision between his bike and a car in Orpington this Saturday afternoon. The crash happened just after 12.30pm at the busy junction of Court Road and Church Road.
Emergency Response and Hospitalisation
Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, including London’s Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene. The cyclist was treated on-site before being whisked off to a major trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
A spokesperson confirmed: “We sent numerous resources including two ambulance crews, an incident response officer, and two fast response units. The cyclist was taken to hospital as a priority.”
Driver Stops and Police Investigate
The driver of the car stayed at the scene and is fully cooperating with police. The Met Police said: “Officers responded along with LAS and London’s Air Ambulance. The cyclist’s condition remains critical. Road closures remain in place.”

The crash caused major road closures at Court Road and Church Road, snarling traffic on key routes including the A21 and M25.
