Paedophile Jailed for 20 Years After Decade of Abuse on Three Children

Robert Foster’s Sickening Crimes Exposed

Robert Foster has been locked up for 20 years after subjecting three young children to horrific sexual abuse spanning ten years. The abuse began when the victims were just in primary school.

The 55-year-old, from Salters Close, Darlington, faced charges including one count of rape, five counts of sexual assault, and eight counts of sexual activity with a child.

Victims Brave Enough to Speak Out

The shocking abuse was uncovered when one child told a trusted adult, who alerted the police. Foster denied the allegations, claiming all three children were lying, forcing them through a gruelling four-day trial at Teesside Crown Court.

But the jury saw through his deceit and returned unanimous guilty verdicts on all 14 charges.

Justice Served, Victims Praise Police and Jury

Foster was not only jailed but also slapped with a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO). A relative of one victim told the court:

“Foster used this as an opportunity to manipulate innocent children for his own wrong, and sick desires. These kids were children and young adults; he could potentially have ruined their lives. I would like to thank the police, the judge, and the jury for believing in these children and helping them get the justice they deserve.”

Police Urge Other Victims to Come Forward

Durham Constabulary officers Heidi Weir and Rebecca Cruise, who led the investigation, said:

“This was a complex case involving multiple victims who, over time, suffered systematic abuse by a man they trusted. Foster showed no remorse and insisted the victims were lying. Fortunately, the jury saw through his lies and convicted him unanimously.”

They added:

“The victims showed immense courage. We hope this conviction helps them move forward knowing their voices have been heard.”
