Dangerous Rapist Off the Streets After Teen Attacked in North London
A vile rapist has been found guilty of attacking a 15-year-old girl near Harlesden High Street. Deangelo Brown, 23, from Bank Close, Luton, was convicted at Harrow Crown Court on Tuesday, 15 September, for rape and sexual activity with a child.
Horrifying Attack at a Bus Stop
The chilling assault happened on the morning of Tuesday 10 March. Brown approached the teenager as she waited at a bus stop. After asking her age, he forced her to follow him into a nearby alleyway, where the attack took place.
A brave member of the public witnessed the assault and swiftly intervened, escorting the victim to Harlesden police station to report the crime. Police acted fast, circulating Brown’s description and arresting him close by.
Justice for Victim and Praise for Heroic Good Samaritan
The victim was taken to a Haven centre and received support from specially trained officers. Detective Constable Samantha Wilton from North West BCU said:
“I want to praise the bravery and composure shown by this young girl after such a horrifying ordeal. The impact of that morning cannot be forgotten. Brown is a dangerous predator who has rightly been found guilty.” “I also thank the person who helped the victim by escorting her to the police station. I urge anyone affected by sexual offences to report them so we can bring offenders to justice.”
Sentencing Date Set
Brown will be sentenced at Harrow Crown Court on Tuesday, 3 November. The community hopes this conviction sends a strong message that predators will be hunted down and punished.
