Child Found Dead in London Flat as Woman Arrested for Murder
Police swooped on a London flat after a tragic discovery early on Sunday, 27 December. At 7.49am, London Ambulance Service alerted officers to the death of a young boy at Invermore Place, SE18.
Despite desperate attempts by emergency crews, the child was pronounced dead at the scene.
Woman Arrested and Charged
A woman in her 30s was arrested at the address and taken into custody. She was charged with the child’s murder the same day. The suspect appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on 28 December and has been remanded until her hearing at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 30 December.
Family Ties and Investigation Underway
Police confirmed the woman and the boy are related, though their identities have not been released. Next of kin have been informed.
Detectives are probing the full circumstances surrounding the boy’s death. A post-mortem is scheduled for Thursday, 31 December as the investigation continues.
