Man Nabbed Over String of Southwark Sexual Assaults
Detectives have swooped on a man linked to multiple sexual assaults in Southwark. The terrifying spree unfolded in Camberwell and near Ruskin Park, with victims coming forward throughout Tuesday.
Rapid Response Leads to Arrest
Officers raced to the scene after the first report landed early Tuesday morning. More complaints soon followed, describing a man sexually harassing women in the area. Thanks to a swift and urgent probe, cops arrested suspect Chai Thomas-Manners, 28, from Basingdon Way, Camberwell, later that day.
Charged with Multiple Offences
On Thursday, July 7, Thomas-Manners faced a string of charges:
- Eight counts of sexual assault by touching on July 5, 2022
- Three counts of sexual assault by touching on April 27, 2022
- One count of cannabis production
