Man Charged as Police Hunt Witnesses After Lewisham Stabbing Death

Detectives probing a fatal stabbing in Lewisham have charged a man and are urgently appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Suspect Charged and Court Dates Set

A 38-year-old from Brockley was arrested on Monday, 7 September, on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. The following day, he was charged with grievous bodily harm and remanded in custody.

He appeared at Bromley Magistrates Court on 8 September and is set to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Wednesday, 7 October. Meanwhile, he has been bailed in connection with the murder allegation pending further inquiries.

Fatal Stabbing After Silent Disco Brawl

Police and London Ambulance Service were called to Thornsbeach Road just after 5.30am on Sunday, 6 September following reports of an assault.

Sean Williams, 34, was found with a stab wound to the neck and was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.19am.

A 37-year-old man turned up at a south London hospital with a knife injury to his hand. His wounds were not life-threatening.

Officers believe both men attended a silent disco at Culverley Road, SE6, where a fight broke out between two men.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

Detectives want anyone who was at the event or who has information or footage to get in touch.
