Four Charged Over Fatal Shooting and Knife Attack in East London
London Manhunt Leads to Multiple Murder Charges
Police have charged Awadh Saleh, 24, from Plaistow, with murder, attempted murder, two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and possession of a bladed weapon. He is due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 4 May.
Asad Sharif, 28, of Manor Park, Newham, faces similar murder and attempted murder charges, along with firearm possession and conspiracy to steal motor vehicles. He was remanded in custody after his court appearance at the Old Bailey on 13 April.
More Suspects Held Over East London Crime Spree
Zyon Francis, 23, from Plaistow, has been charged with assisting an offender and will also attend Thames Magistrates’ Court on 4 May. Likewise, Rio Burton-Devine, 24, of Islington, charged with murder and firearm possession, is due in court the same day.
Ahmed Kassim, 30, and Makhil Osman, 23, both from Newham, alongside Marcel Burton, 19, of Lambeth, have been charged with assisting an offender. They will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on 4 May.
Conspiracy to Steal Motor Vehicles Adds to Charges
Jessica Hilton, 22, from Dartford, Kent, and Dino Hamza, 25, from Newham, were charged with conspiracy to steal motor vehicles. They are set to appear in court on 4 May.
Victim Found with Knife and Gunshot Wounds
The drama unfolded on 26 April 2021, when police were called to Coolfin Road, E16, after reports of an injured man. Officers and London Ambulance Service found the victim, known as Junior, suffering from knife wounds and a gunshot. Despite urgent medical efforts, Junior died at the scene.
Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command linked some suspects to a separate attempted murder in Tree Road, Newham, just days earlier on 22 April 2021.
