Four Arrested in London Murder Probe
Police swooped across east and north London on 21 and 22 March, arresting three men aged 22 and 23 over perverting the course of justice. A 28-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. All four have now been bailed until June.
Victim Alex’s Family Updated
The family of Alex, tragically shot dead aged 18 on the Beaumont Estate in Leyton, E10, have been informed of the latest arrests. The shooting happened just after 1:25am on Wednesday, 1 September 2021.
Detectives say Alex had been at an illegal music event the night before. Most left by the early hours, but a small group remained sitting on a bench when gunfire erupted.
Stolen Car Linked to Murder Found Burnt Out
The murder vehicle was a black Kia Sportage stolen from Chingford just before midnight on 16 August 2021. It was later found abandoned and fire-damaged in Walthamstow, E17, on 3 September.
Reward and Appeal for Witnesses
The Met Police are offering a reward of up to £20,000 for info leading to the killer’s arrest and prosecution.
Detective Sergeant Fenton Davis said: “We haven’t forgotten Alex and we’re determined to bring his killers to justice. Time has passed, and I hope witnesses now feel able to step forward. Carrying information for over a year and a half about a young man’s death is difficult – please do the right thing and speak up. Alex’s family deserve the truth. Previous Arrest No Longer Actioned
A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after the shooting but was later released with no further action.
