Two Young Men Dead After Late-Night Brawl in Brentwood Estate

Tragedy struck Regency Court around 1.30am on Sunday (24 October) when two boys died following a disturbance. Police have launched a major investigation, seizing over 200 hours of CCTV and interviewing more than 20 witnesses.

Three Men Held Over Murder

Three men remain in custody suspected of murder — two from Grays aged 19 and 20, and a 21-year-old from South Ockendon. Authorities continue to question them as the probe heats up.

Meanwhile, four other men — a 20-year-old from South Ockendon and three others from Grays aged 19, 20, and 49 — have been released without charges. A 40-year-old from Brentwood was released under investigation.

Police Work Round the Clock

“Our investigation is progressing well and we are building a picture of the circumstances which led up to the boys’ death,” said Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Truss.

“We believe this was an isolated incident and there isn’t a risk to the wider public. Brentwood is a safe place and incidents like this are rare.”

Officers are combing through hours of CCTV footage, and the Brentwood Community Policing Team is stepping up patrols to reassure local residents.

Detective Truss urged anyone with information to come forward. “Please speak to us if you have concerns or relevant details we’ve not heard yet.”
