Kent County Line Dealer Busted with Bags of Cash

A 19-year-old county line drug dealer has been locked up after cops caught him with thousands in cash. Joseph Odoi was nabbed in east London after his car was spotted leaving Kent. Phone checks revealed he was texting drug users in Dover.

Young Dealer’s Dark Dealings Exposed

Odoi admitted to dealing heroin and cocaine and possessing criminal property. On Monday 26 October 2020, Canterbury Crown Court jailed him for three years and nine months in a young offenders’ institution.

County lines refers to organised crime gangs using phone lines to push drugs from cities into smaller towns and countryside. Kent Police uncovered a group running the ‘Ghost’ line in Dover during June and July 2020.

  • Police tailed a car linked to the gang from Kent to east London on 8 September.
  • Odoi was a passenger when stopped. Officers found £2,000 hidden in his trousers and a phone connected to the ‘Ghost’ drug line.
  • A search of his Stoke Newington home uncovered £8,000 worth of designer clothes with no clear explanation of funding.

“Kent Police is determined to shut down county lines groups who prey on some of the most vulnerable people in our communities,” said Detective Sergeant Martin Williams.

“Odoi’s spending showed he was involved in serious class A drug distribution. I’m glad this sentence will keep him off our streets for a good while.”
