Drug Dealer Caught in Chelmsford Sting Jailed for Over Five Years
Op Raptor Nails Suspected Drug Dealer
Police swooped on Chelmsford’s Moulsham Street after tip-offs about a black Ford Focus linked to drug sales. Officers from Op Raptor North had spotted the car lingering suspiciously in the area.
Tracking it down on Writtle Road, they stopped the vehicle and searched 26-year-old driver Jason Habibo.
Crack Cocaine, Heroin and Cash Found in Car
Habibo, from Lonsdale Close, London E6, was caught with 23 wraps of Class A drugs – crack cocaine and heroin – along with a stash of cash. He was promptly arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply.
Denied Then Dug His Own Grave
At first, Habibo denied the charges. But faced with the overwhelming evidence, he later pleaded guilty. On 14 October, Snaresbrook Crown Court sentenced him to five and a half years behind bars.
Warning to Essex Drug Dealers
“Drug ruin lives and cause misery to our communities and we work tirelessly to take drugs off our streets and put those selling them behind bars,” said Detective Sergeant James Pammett of Op Raptor.
“Jason Habibo tried to deny he was a dealer despite being found with a large amount of cash and 23 wraps of Class A drugs. Thanks to our thorough investigation, he had no choice but to admit the charges. This should be a warning to others selling drugs in Essex — we are watching you and we will bring you to justice.”
