South Norwood Drug Dealers Locked Up for Over Seven Years After £28k Haul Seized
Two young drug pushers have been sentenced to a combined 7½ years behind bars after a dramatic police raid in South Norwood.
Raid Uncovers Class A Drugs Worth Thousands
Tai Diedrick, 19, and Shaquille Boreland, 22, both from Parry Road, were caught red-handed during a dawn bust on 10 April 2017. Police swooped at their London home at around 7.20am, finding the pair in a bedroom surrounded by a stash of cocaine and heroin valued at around £28,000.
Officers also recovered a plastic carrier bag thrown from the bedroom window. Forensic evidence linked Diedrick’s fingerprints to one bag and Boreland’s DNA to others discarded outside the window.
Guilty Pleas Lead to Heavy Sentences at Woolwich Crown Court
Both men admitted to two charges each of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply. On Friday 18 May 2018, Diedrick was jailed for four years and one month. Boreland received three years and five months.
Detective Vows to Keep Drug Dealers Off Streets
“Kent Police works hard to bring drug dealers to justice and I’m pleased we’ve been able to get two more dealers off the streets,” said Detective Constable Daniel Bister. “They were found with a large amount of drugs which would have been sold to a lot of vulnerable people. I hope these sentences act as a reminder to others that crime does not pay.”
