Carbon Monoxide Alert Sparks Emergency Evacuation in East London Block

Firefighters Race to Murdoch Court

Fire crews were scrambled to Murdoch Court on Rookwood Way, E3, after a suspected carbon monoxide leak triggered alarms this afternoon. The seven-storey block was urgently evacuated to keep residents safe from the silent danger.

Three Rushed to Hospital as Precaution

Emergency teams confirmed everyone inside was accounted for after a full search. However, three people were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service as a precautionary measure against carbon monoxide poisoning.

Ongoing Danger – Avoid Murdoch Court Area

Firefighters from Stratford, Leytonstone, Bethnal Green, and neighbouring stations remain on scene, ventilating the building. Police and paramedics are working alongside to secure the area. The public is advised to steer clear while the emergency operation continues.

The London Fire Brigade was first called to the incident at 2.40pm.
