Police WhatsApp Scandal: Racist, Sexist, and Horrifying Messages Exposed
Shocking Abuse Inside Police Ranks
A WhatsApp group chat among former and current police officers has been blasted for sharing vile messages that were sexist, racist, homophobic, and transphobic. The group even mocked Katie Price’s disabled son, Harvey Price, with one edited photo dubbed a serious breach of equality and diversity rules.
Names on the Hot Seat
Those caught up in the scandal include former Sgt Luke Thomas, former acting Sgt Luke Allen, former PCs Kelsey Buchan, Carlo Francisco, Lee South, Darren Jenner, current PC Glynn Rees, and an unnamed “Officer B.” Officer B’s posting of the doctored Harvey Price photo was branded gross misconduct—enough to cost a police officer their job.
Brutal Jokes and Disgusting Conduct
- Luke Thomas stood out as one of the most active in the group.
- Messages ranged from mocking a fellow officer’s weight to calling a junior female officer “ugly.”
- They even joked about naming a dog after child sex killers.
The investigation slammed Thomas’s failure to shut down the chat earlier as “undoubtedly gross misconduct” and described his actions as “extremely serious.”
Deep-Rooted Problem in the Met Police
This latest revelation comes on the back of a year-long review exposing racism, misogyny, and homophobia within the Metropolitan Police. The review was launched after the horrific abduction, rape, and murder of Sarah Everard by a serving officer in 2021.
Baroness Louise Casey was tasked with probing the force’s culture and standards, highlighting the urgent need for reform.
