Chilling First Look: Young Italian Man Found Dead in Wheelie Bin in North London

The grim discovery of a young Italian man’s body dumped in a wheelie bin behind a Waitrose in north London has shocked locals. Detectives have identified the victim as 23-year-old Erik San-Filippo.

Police were called to Tollington Road, Islington, just before 4pm on Saturday, 11 May after a man’s body was discovered stuffed inside a wheelie bin. The scene sent shockwaves through the community.

Victim Named and Investigation Underway

Erik San-Filippo, an Italian national, was formally identified by police. His next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination has been carried out but remains inconclusive, with further tests pending. Authorities are treating the death as unexplained.

Man Arrested and Released on Bail

A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday, 12 May. He has since been bailed and is expected to return in mid-June as the investigation, led by the Met’s Central North Command, continues.
