“I understand the shock and concern this incident will cause, especially after last week’s tragic murder of Pharrell Garcia nearby. But a team of experienced detectives is working tirelessly to catch whoever is behind this violent act. Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the victim.”
Police urge public to speak up
Conway urged anyone with information to contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. He added:
“If you know someone regularly carrying a knife, please let us know via Crimestoppers. Knife crime wounds all our communities – together we can fight back.”
The investigation continues as the area reels from a spate of violent stabbings in recent weeks.
