Four Men Convicted Over Teen’s Fatal Stabbing in Tower Hamlets
A high-profile investigation has led to the conviction of four men for the brutal killing of 17-year-old Shea Gordon in Tower Hamlets. Police used CCTV footage and phone records to prove Shea was deliberately targeted by the gang.
Old Bailey Verdicts: Murder and Manslaughter Charges
The trial at the Old Bailey concluded on Wednesday, 2 August, with the following convictions:
- Kavian Vaughans, 18 (Blaydon Close, N17) – convicted of murder.
- Dainnan Witter-Cameron, 18 (Galahad Road, Enfield, N9) – convicted of manslaughter.
- Giovanni Addae-Johnson, 18 (John La Rose Court, N17) – convicted of manslaughter.
- Abdul Yaro, 19 (Chesnut Road, N17) – convicted of murder.
All four remain in custody and will be sentenced at the Old Bailey in the week starting Monday, 11 September.
Chilling Details of the Attack
The tragedy unfolded on 3 September 2022. Shea had been at a birthday party on Lichfield Road, E5. Although the venue was initially secret, Witter-Cameron was invited. Beforehand, the four defendants exchanged Snapchat messages plotting an attack on Shea after discovering the location.
Just after midnight, Witter-Cameron joined the others outside the party — despite not being invited. Witnesses saw the group, dressed in black, hooded, and masked, confront a crowd outside, sparking chaos and panic.
CCTV captured the haunting moment Shea ran down Alloway Road, with the gang in fierce pursuit. He suffered three stab wounds, including a fatal chest injury, and tragically died aged just 17. Addae-Johnson was also found wounded on nearby Morgan Street.
Police Unmask Plot, Deliver Justice
Detectives uncovered a premeditated plan: the men waited on nearby streets for Witter-Cameron to join before launching the attack. Mobile phone evidence and conflicting statements exposed their lies, leading to their arrests.
“Our thoughts remain with Shea’s family during this heartbreaking time,” said Detective Chief Inspector Mark Rogers, who led the investigation. “While the convictions provide some closure, the loss is deeply felt by all.”
