Trevor Hooper, 59, has been locked up for almost three years after duping a friend out of £37,000 — including all his pension savings. Over two years, Hooper spun a web of lies, pitching fake investments in gold, diamonds, and property to his workmate.
Victims left shattered
The victim was left “devastated” and “lost everything,” said Bromley Borough Police. Further digging uncovered at least one more person tricked by Hooper’s scam, though he was convicted only for the first £37,000 fraud.
Nearly three years behind bars
Residing on Bradford Close, Hooper got sentenced to two years and ten months in prison. Police hope this hefty sentence delivers justice and warns others to stay sharp.
