Man Held Over Attempted Murder of Hampshire Police Officer Released
A 43-year-old man arrested for the attempted murder of a Hampshire police officer has been released from custody but remains under investigation. He is currently detained under Section 2 of the Mental Health Act.
Stabbing Shocks Basingstoke
The arrest came after a violent incident on April 12 at around 4.30pm on 1 Way, Basingstoke. Officers had been called to the address over a welfare concern.
Officer Suffered Knife Injuries in Attack
During the confrontation, a young officer in his 20s was stabbed twice with knives, sustaining injuries to his head, neck, and hands. He was treated in hospital and discharged the following day.
Officer Recovering at Home
The officer is now home and recovering following the brutal attack as inquiries continue.
